So, the first thing we have been dying to show everyone is the wonderful LVL treatment. LVL stands for length, volume, lift. We get asked all the time what it is, is it like a lash perm? Well yes and no. Yes it is a chemical treatment for your lashes, the same as a perm, but the instrument used to shape the lashes is very different.
A traditional lash perm uses a round rod, whereas the LVL treatment uses a curved silicone shield. The chemical treatment is only applied to the root of the natural lashes and is able to lift the lashes (similar to the effect eyelash curlers have) and create the lengthening effect that lash perms often can’t.
The treatment takes between 45 minutes to an hour and provided you follow the aftercare instructions (keep newly treated lashes completely dry for 24 hours), your lashes will look lucious and perky for 8 – 12 weeks. Perfect! A low maintainence but uber lashtastic treatment suitable for all lash lengths and lash colours.
I happily voulentered my long, but quite straight lashes to be guinea pigs and below you will see the before, during and after pictures.
I chose a medium sheild to give quite a dramatic lift but a larger sheild can be used to give a more subtle , sweeping lift.
I chose to also tint the upper lashes, you know, for even more va va voom, but this is optional. About 50 minutes later and ta da!
I am in LOVE with my lashes. I can’t tell you how many people have commented on them and also thought that they were lash extensions! As a mascara obsessive, this treatment is perfect for me as after the 24 hour dry period I can whack on as much mascara as I like – although I don’t think I’ll need any for a while.
